Everyday should be a YAY! day, but most of us are excited that it’s the last day of our work week. That means you can sleep in later and do more for yourself this weekend. Mom’s usually have the busiest days. From taking your kids to school, working full-time, cooking, cleaning, and making time to spend with your family. But in that busy schedule where does the time to do something for yourself come in? Since it’s the last day of the work week, I encourage you to take a minute to reflect on your week. Find one thing that you did for yourself and feel proud of it. Be proud that you took that yoga class, went on that walk in the park, that cup of coffee you bought for yourself, that book you took the time to read, or maybe you wanted to spend time with someone because it makes you feel good, be proud of the time and effort you made for yourself. And if you have not taken the time to do something for yourself this week, you still have this weekend! So, plan on it! One thing I did for myself this week was going to my favorite dance workout class, KAZAXE. I usually go to the gym or on outdoor runs but I try my best to go at least once or twice a week to KAZAXE because it makes me feel good! I dance and get a workout in all at once. I have to plan accordingly for it because the classes run on a schedule, so it has to fit in with my busy day. But the music being loud and just moving to it makes the workout so fun and relaxing for me. I love it! It keeps my mind off things. I leave class with the best spirit and feeling so good about the effort I put into that hour long workout. That was my week’s 1 thing! I hope you all can reflect on that 1 thing you did for yourself this week and be proud. Enjoy your FriYAY! The only picture I got of class that day. You have to go and experience the class for yourself! Here is the website, http://www.azuka-bom.com

I grew up listening to Selena Quintanilla songs. I absolutely love her music. Anytime that I sing Karaoke my go to song is “Como La Flor” by Selena, I know every lyric to that song. I have probably watched her biographical movie “Selena” over 20 times. Her story is an inspiring one to many Latinas with big dreams! I love how her legacy lives on, and now MAC cosmetics came out with a Selena collection!
MAC Selena collection has been talked about for months. Finally they brought the collection to stores last week on Thursday, October 6th, 2016. I called MAC at FairOaks Mall on Wednesday night to ask if they were anticipating a lot of people waiting for the store to open. They informed me that they were having a special event for it and that they were expecting a lot of people to show up. Of course I began planning, “anything for Selenas”. I texted my cousin Grecia to see if she would be up for standing in line in front of MAC at 6 a.m.. Let me tell you now, I have a very supportive cousin because she hates waking up that early (especially on her day off!) but she did it for me! We got up at 6 a.m., got our coffee, and headed to FairOaks mall. We were 3rd in line! I was very excited. I planned on getting all of her lipsticks and mascara. MAC doors opened at 10 a.m. and they were only letting 5 people at a time to get the Selena Collection. I’m proud to say we were one of the first 5 to get in. I tried on all of her lipsticks and fell in love with them! Each cosmetic is named after her songs. So the lipsticks I got were named, “Como la Flor”, “Dreaming of You”, and “Amor Prohibido”. I should also mention, those are some of my favorite songs! The lipsticks were $18 each. The Mascara from the Selena collection did not have a name but it’s a nice one and it was also $18. Overall, I’m very happy with the MAC Selena collection. I had a great time with my cousin waiting for the moment we could lay our hands on the MAC Selena Collection. Her company that day proves to me that I have very supportive people around me (she went for support but got 1 lipstick!), and what is my website advocating? APOYO, SUPPORT HER! I’m very grateful to have her in my life. Well, here are a few photographs of the things I purchased! This MAC Selena collection release will definitely hold a special place in my heart, and I have some great “fotos y recuerdos”! |
